Rector'S   MESSAGE

Dear students, teachers, parents and well-wishers,
St. Joseph’s College is ever committed to its task of preparing integral personalities for the society. In this endeavor, its main objective is to strike a balance among various areas of formation. I warmly welcome to Josephian family. We thank you sincerely for visiting our website come to know more about St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10, Negombo Branch. We consider it a great priviledge to work with you.
Catholic Schools are supposed to create for the school community a special atmosphere animated by the gospel spirit of freedom and charity, to help youth grow according to the new creatures they were made through Baptism as they develop their own personalities. We have high expectations of our students as a leading Catholic College in Negombo and work hard to provide a stimulating environment for the children to grow gracefully as they attain maturity in health, mind and body. The College also provides opportunities to unleash their potentials as young Josephians.
By their witness and their behavior the teachers are of the first importance to impart a distinctive character to Catholic School. I am highly impressed by the commitment and the dedication of the tutorial staff. Maintaining the Josephian tradition, teachers by their life and as much as by their instruction bear witness to Christ the unique Teacher by intimately linked in charity to one another and to the students and endowed with an apostolic spirit. They work as partners with parents by fostering education which promotes spiritual and human values, thus producing good citizens who have the knowledge, skill and aptitudes to serve the community.
While appreciating the generosity and magnanimity of our well-wishers, benefactors and parents I thank them very sincerely. May “Peace and Power” bring to St. Joseph’s good tidings of intelligence and joy to form an inspiring family that always strives towards perfection!
May God Bless you!

The College Anthem

Fruits of Virtue and of knowledge
Here we gather peace and power
Symbolised in yonder banner
Floating o' er St. Joseph's tower

White and Blue its mystic colours
Harmonizing strong and clear
Stolen from the distant mountains
From the wild waves breaking near

From the wild waves breaking near
Harmonizing strong and clear
White and Blue our mystic colours
Till the mountains disappear.
